God is perfect in every way. He is unchangeable. He can neither increase nor decrease. He is not wiser or more holy. He cannot be more righteous or more merciful. God is not subject to the development process. He is absolutely above all laws that govern time and change, God’s word is law, not just the Ten Commandments.
God is also holy. He hates sin. He will not dwell where sin is and He judges sin. Sin is what separates man from God. God demands punishment for sin. No animal sacrifice could take sin away. That is why there was a need for a perfect sacrifice to take sin away. It satisfied God to crush Jesus on the cross for immediate justice. This is righteous justice. Jesus lived a sinless life and took on the sin of the world past, present, and future. No other creation or man could have done what Jesus did.
In the bible, no salvation prayer saves you or guarantees your salvation. Salvation is not by works, so you can’t earn it. I know many of you said the prayer and the preacher told you were saved. No one can deem you saved. Salvation is a gift of God by His grace. You have to have faith in God and believe what Jesus has done on the cross and that Jesus was resurrected from the dead.
The evidence that you have been transformed is that you live in faith to please God, that you have become a new creation. In the Bible, 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Hebrews 11:6 in the Bible says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
When you fail, and you are sorely sorry for your sin you can ask God for forgiveness, and He will forgive you. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” This is a confession to God, not a priest. If you make it right with God and the person you offended, then God will honor it. As you walk with God, you are being sanctified. Sanctification is a process where you are being made perfect as you have a continuous relationship with God. And because you love God, you will want to please Him, and will not only keep His commandments, but you will love your neighbor as yourself. This comes as evidence that you are His.
So ask yourself these questions: Do I love God? Am I living a life pleasing to God? Am I so sorry for the wrongdoing that I do in my thoughts, my deeds, and words?
God doesn’t ask that you be good but that you seek a relationship with Him. He doesn’t want your religion. Jesus preached to repent and about the Kingdom, not a religion.
